Gardenia jasminoides (syn. G. augusta)
A great variety that produces large, highly perfumed, double, creamy-white flowers from late spring and into the warmer months. Flowers contrast attractively against the dark green, glossy leaves.
Makes an ideal container plant, pots may be positioned near windows and doors where the perfume can be enjoyed.
Gardenias grow best in a warm position in well drained, humus-rich soil. A sunny to partly shaded position is best with protection from frost. Keep soil moist but not wet.
